Stainless Steel CNC Machining Services & Custom Parts

Custom stainless steel CNC machining for 304, 316 and 17-4PH parts, from prototypes to production with inspection, traceability and finishing support.

Stainless steel parts often look straightforward on a drawing. The production risk appears later: work hardening, tool wear, heat, burrs, distortion, inconsistent passivation or dimensions that shift after finishing. Buyers need a supplier that reviews these risks before the purchase order, not after a rejected shipment.
CUSTOM STAINLESS STEEL CNC MACHINING
Zync Precision manufactures custom stainless steel parts from customer drawings and 3D models. We support CNC milling and turning for prototypes, pilot batches and repeat production. The process is reviewed against the selected grade, geometry, tolerances, surface finish, inspection scope and delivery requirements.
STAINLESS STEEL GRADES
304 stainless steel is commonly used for general industrial components, food equipment, enclosures and corrosion-resistant hardware. 316 stainless steel provides improved corrosion resistance for chemical, marine and demanding environmental applications. 17-4PH stainless steel combines strength, hardness and corrosion resistance for shafts, valve components, fixtures and high-load parts. Other grades can be evaluated against the drawing and application.
The exact grade and condition should be stated on the drawing. Material substitutions require written approval when chemistry, mechanical properties, heat treatment or corrosion resistance affect performance.
PARTS WE MACHINE
Typical projects include valve bodies, manifolds, shafts, pins, sleeves, bushings, housings, brackets, fittings, threaded components, instrument parts and custom automation components. The process may combine turning and milling when rotational and prismatic features must be controlled from common datums.
MACHINING RISKS AND PROCESS REVIEW
Stainless steel can generate heat and work harden if tools rub instead of cutting. Stable workholding, suitable tooling, controlled cutting conditions and planned tool replacement help protect dimensions and surface quality. Deep pockets, small tools, thin walls, long bores and interrupted cuts require additional review.
The quotation should identify function-critical dimensions instead of applying unnecessarily tight tolerances everywhere. Zync Precision confirms achievable tolerances only after reviewing the drawing, material, geometry, process route and measurement method.
BURRS, THREADS AND EDGES
Cross holes, internal intersections, threads and sealing features can trap burrs that are difficult to see. Drawings should define edge-break expectations, prohibited sharp edges and features that require special inspection. Threads may be checked with suitable gauges, and critical sealing surfaces should include finish and damage limits.
SURFACE FINISHING AND PASSIVATION
Depending on the application, stainless steel parts may be supplied as machined, polished, passivated, electropolished, bead blasted or treated according to customer requirements. The final process and standard are confirmed during quotation.
Finishing can affect appearance, dimensions and surface condition. Identify cosmetic zones, masking requirements, post-finish dimensions and any required certificates before production starts.
QUALITY CONTROL AND TRACEABILITY
Inspection planning begins with the controlled drawing revision. Depending on project requirements, quality records may include dimensional reports, material certificates, heat or lot traceability, first-article inspection, coating or passivation certificates and certificates of conformity.
For repeat orders, revision control, approved material sources, stable fixtures, tool-life control and documented inspection frequency help maintain consistency beyond the first sample.
WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR RFQ
Send the 2D PDF drawing and 3D STEP model, stainless steel grade and condition, quantities, critical tolerances and fits, surface roughness, heat treatment or passivation requirements, inspection documents, packaging needs, destination and required delivery date.
REQUEST AN ENGINEERING REVIEW
Send your stainless steel part drawing to Zync Precision for manufacturability review and quotation. We will review the geometry, grade, quantity, tolerances, finishing, documentation and delivery risks before confirming the manufacturing plan.
