What 5-Axis Machining Does
Five-axis machining moves the tool and the workpiece on five axes at the same time. It allows access to complex surfaces, angled features and deep pockets in fewer setups.
Fewer setups can improve accuracy and reduce handling. The trade-off is programming, fixturing and machine time, which should be reflected in the quote.
Typical Parts
We machine complex housings, impellers, brackets, medical instruments, aerospace components, molds and precision parts with angled features. The review covers the geometry, the tolerance, the surface finish and the inspection plan.
Tolerances and Inspection
Critical features are verified with CMM or the agreed method. The datum scheme and the inspection setup should be defined for complex parts, because access and fixturing can affect the measurement.
What to Specify
State the material, the critical features, the tolerance, the surface finish, the datum scheme and the inspection requirement. If the part has deep pockets or difficult-to-reach features, share the CAD model and the functional requirement.
Request a Quote
Send your drawing, STEP file, material, tolerance, surface finish, quantity and destination. Our engineering team responds within 24 hours.
Applications
We machine complex housings, impellers, brackets, medical instruments, aerospace components and molds with angled features.
Send the STEP file and a 2D drawing with the critical features, datum scheme, tolerance and surface finish.
FAQ
What condition should I specify?
Send the STEP file and a 2D drawing with the critical features, datum scheme, tolerance and surface finish.
Can you provide material certificates?
Yes. Material certificates, heat-lot traceability, FAI and CMM reports can be included in the RFQ.
What tolerances can you hold?
Tolerances are confirmed by feature. Critical features can be verified with CMM; a blanket tight tolerance is usually unnecessary and expensive.
